1. TREK WITH THE TRIBES OF SAPA.
The 5 hour bus journey from Hanoi up into the mountains of Sapa is hair-raising at points but absolutely worth it! Trekking through bright green rice terraces with the locals is truly unforgettable.
2. SAPA: EAT & STAY HERE
The Hill Station (SAVE PLACE) - in contrast to Sapa’s street food and local cafe's, this place is for those seeking a more luxurious restaurant & accommodation experience. Northern Vietnamese cuisine presented beautifully in an unforgettable panoramic setting.
3. CAT BA ISLAND.
From here, you can take boat trips out to the iconic Halong Bay. Kayaking in the hidden lagoons is one of my all time travel highlights!
5. HOI AN.
This charming ancient town is a UNESCO world heritage site alive with street food, fishing boats, local crafts and row after row of its world famous tailor shops. Jump on a bike and ride through the rice paddy’s to one of Hoi An’s nearby beaches.
PLUS: LEARN TO COOK LOCAL - DISHES IN HOI AN
You will be taken with a small group through the local markets and educated about the ingredients used, before travelling by fishing boat to an idyllic riverside setting. Here you are taught to cook traditional Vietnamese dishes, later eating them together in the restaurant.
5. PHU QUOC ISLAND
90% of this tropical island is covered by vegetation, perfect for hiring a moped, and spending your days discovering its perfect sandy beaches.
